“This Black Hash Will Help You Be One With Your Couch”
Black hash is a very indica type high. Even when it’s made with a sativa strain. The alcohol extraction pulls out all of the oils and cannabinoids, not just the thc. Hash that is made from bubble bags, tumblers, or screens is primarily thc from the surface of the plant. These methods do nothing to extract all the other cannabinoids from the plant.
My Black Hash Recipe
The only things you need to make black hash are marijuana, glass jars, glass baking pans & alcohol. The higher the percentage of alcohol you use the more effective it extracts. A high percentage alcohol also makes a more pure product with a better taste. You can use ispropyl but I prefer to use Everclear. It’s a lot more expensive than isopropyl but the results are worth it.
Step 1: Put the marijuana in a glass jar with a lid that seals well. Fill it about 2 inches from the top. It doesn’t matter if the marijuana is dry or freshly harvested and wet.
Step 2: Pour alcohol in the jar untill the marijuana is completely submerged. Put the lid on and place the jar somewhere warm but not hot, and somewhere that is dark. You can put the jar in a paper bag or a box to solve the “dark” criteria. Shake the jar lightly once a day (or twice) every day for 4-7 days.
Step 3: Fill another jar with marijuana about 2 inches from the top again.
Step 4: Pour the alcohol out of the first jar (the jar that the marijuana has been soaking in for a week) through a fine wire mesh strainer into the new jar full of marijuana. Put the lid on and put the jar somewhere warm and dark again for another week. Shake the jar lightly every day.
Step 5: Fill another jar with marijuana about 2 inches from the top again.
Step 6: Pour the alcohol out of the first jar (the jar that the marijuana has been soaking in for a week) through a fine wire mesh strainer into the new jar full of marijuana. Put the lid on and put the jar somewhere warm and dark again for another week. Shake the jar lightly every day.
Step 7: By this time you have soaked 3 batches of marijuana in the alcohol. You can soak it in more batches if you want but it really isn’t needed. Now take your glass baking dish and pour the alcohol out of the jar, through the fine mesh strainer and into the glass baking dish. Don’t cover the baking dish, place it somewhere warm and dark, preferably with some air circulation. After about 2-6 days the alcohol will have evaporated. Wait another 7 days after the alcohol appears to have evaporated and it’s ready.
Step 8: Take a razor blade and scrape the hash out of the baking dish and put it in a glass jar of some sort. Half pint mason jars work great.
Some people like to speed up the evaporation process by heating the glass dish on low heat on the stove or in the oven for a day. If you’re in a hurry heating it on the stove works better than in the oven because the “open air” environment helps to get rid of any alcohol taste. If you’re not in a hurry the best way is to just let it evaporate naturally in a warm, dark, open air environment.
